Activities Program

Activities Program

The activities program offers patients opportunities to participate in on-going interests, and helps them acquire new skills and interests. It is intended to ensure a well-rounded therapeutic milieu that satisfies patients’ physical and social needs.

Upon admission, the patient’s psychiatrist will schedule a Leisure Assessment with our certified therapeutic recreation specialist (CTRS). The results determine the overall activities recommended to meet the patient’s developmental, recreational and leisure needs.

With consultation from the CTRS, we plan unit-specific activities and campus-wide and off-campus events. Activities and events are scheduled based on coordinated use of facilities such as swimming pools, gyms, canteen and fields.
