Healing Trail

Healing Trail

Healing Trail

The Healing Trail is approximately 2,000 feet of natural terrain that winds along the side of San Marcos Treatment Center. Our child and adolescent patients can walk the trail to encounter sights, sounds and smells that engage the senses and assist the healing process. We welcome them to enjoy this natural beauty, and only ask that they treat it with respect.

At Look Out Point—the highest point of the trial—patients can view a spectacular sunrise over the Edwards Plateau, formed by marine deposits of sandstone and limestone over one million years ago when the entire area was covered by ocean. The abundance of freshwater from nearby San Marcos Spring made the area invaluable to Native Americans and European settlers.
